Price increse warnings for UK ladies :)

I heard today that because some places 'froze' their VAT for this month the prices go up at the beginning of Feb.

But today I found out how much some places are rising their prices which I thought some ladies might want to know in case they were waiting to buy their bits.

Mamas and Papas prices are going up 4% and iCandy are raising their prices by 8%

So anyone knowing they want something from either of these, you have 10 days!

Yeh well..they will be taking a gamble on sales! I think things are going to get so tight they will be struggling to sell their prams. We will see how long they can sustain that increase.

All stores increase prices when a new catalogue comes out, M&Ps go up 1.5% this year and iCandy go up 5.5% after VAT is taken into consideration.

Thanks so much for the info!

I know the 20% VAT rate is horrible - but it's actually one of the fairer alternatives:

- The richer you are and the more money you spend, the harder the 20% hits you.
- Everyone contributes

Dont actually agree with that! How is it fair that everyone has to pay a dearer price when incomes vary widely? It means the poorer will have to pay more and have less to meet their monthly bills but it will hardly touch those that are well off!!!! Also, not all rich people spend money...and they have more to spend in the first place anway!!! Its totally unfair!
If you dont agree think about it this way.
Someone gets £100 pay a week
Someone gets £300 pay a week
A toaster now costs £50 as opposed to £30...who is the loser?
