When does swollen ankles start?

Just posted a similar thread re heartburn - I have a feeling swollen ankles and heartburn is going to come at me with a vengence, as I didn't get any sickness.

When do ankles start swelling?
Is there anthing I can do to delay or avoid it?
Hw long does is last, or does it stick around till birth?

MW's say swollen ankles is usually in third tri but unfortunately for me with my last pregnancy I had them at 19 weeks, it wasnt just my ankles however, it was my feet too. I'm usually a size 5 or 6 in some shops but had to buy a size 7 shoe just to fit my feet in.

Hoping it stays a bay a little while longer with this pregnancy seems im having a summer baby. Wasnt so bad last time as it was autumn/winter when they caught up with me so could easily hide them.

xx

My feet have been swollen twice so far...but because I had either been stood up all afternoon, or because I'd done alot of driving.

As soon as I lay down with my feet up it goes down. But some people get it all the time! xx

It varies person to person. I just started swelling daily in my feet and hands. It started around 24 weeks for me.

Everybody is different. I have had heartburn since first trimester and swollen feet and ankles started about 2 weeks ago. I sit at a desk job all day so that could be why mine started swelling so soon but even if I walk around they still have some slight swelling near the end of the day. Don't wish it upon yourself!!

Hi, just popped in from 3rd Tri. Hope it's ok.

Serious swelling normally happens in the last month of pregnancy. However some unlucky gals such as me, started swelling from 1st Tri. My ankles, feet, hands, body, nose, everything. It really depends on each individual. My shoe size went from 38 to 42. Yeah, large feet! LOL
