For the past few days I've been experiencing discomfort around my cervix. It's not there all the time but comes and goes quite frequently. I actually feels a bit like I've had a smear. I rang my MW this morning and she said it's probably just stretching but if I was concerned to seek medical advice.
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this? I've had a colposcopy in the past had had some blood vessels cauterised last year, I'm starting to worry in case it's caused an incompetent cervix or something!
I have this quite often and have had my cervix checked - closed and long. I think mine is little baby feet down there because sometimes the pain would last and once it was quick and sharp, like a kick.
It could also be stretching and your pelvic bones pulling apart.
Should be fine, but if it gets bad, go to the hospital.
In the beginning of the the second tri my cervix felt achey and tight all the time. My OB told me it's the ligaments stretching. Now I feel spasms all the time due to baby kicking it frequently. It seems to be his favourite target. lol It feels similar to bumping your funny bone but I'm getting used to it.
Hey hun!!I too had that at 20 weeks, it felt like there was something inbetween my legs all the time..it was awful!I rang the hospital and they had me in to have a look and said everything seemed ok..and sometimes insides can drop down a bit due to hormones etc...if in doubt tho i would get seen at the hospital as not same 4 everyone xxx
I'm just around the start of second tri and I feel discomfort there quite a lot, I'm hoping it is stretching and that its normal - its so easy to over analyse every symptom. Thanks for sharing, others experiences have put my mind at ease a bit.
I get this sometimes too. I never feel pain or burning really, it's just like I can feel my cervix somehow. I tend to notice it if I've been walking a lot. When I was pretty early (like 5 or 6 weeks) I'd get really sharp stabbing pains up there! Hoping it's just everything stretching out.
Thanks for your replies ladies. I decided to ring my Drs surgery as I'd only be worrying all weekend otherwise ( I worry about everything at the moment!!). I explained my situation and the lady on the other end of the phone seemed quite surprised that my MW hadn't offered to check me out. Anyway she's squeezed me in for later on this afternoon so I'll see what happens then. xx
I've had this off and on as well since about 5 weeks...I'm 14w5d and still get it. It's not all the time. It's like a stabbing pain when I do have, sometimes it's achy. When I mentioned it to the nurse at my OB she said it was normal. It's odd, the things ppl don't tell you.
