Ya, but I think they do just the regular 2d one to determine gender. Im not sure why, but from what I have seen even if you get a 3d, they will look for gender in 2d then switch to 3d to look at baby. 16 wks is an accurate time to tell gender.
Def possible to see as early as 15 weeks or so, but it all depends on the baby cooperating and the machine they are using. My OB's machine is older than a dinosaur, annnnd every ultrasound I've had the baby refuses to give us a good potty shot ...
My last US was 45 minutes long and the ENTIRE time it was sitting on its feet and refused to uncross the legs ...
When baby FINALLY moved its legs a bit, the dr told me baby ALSO had the cord between it's legs LOL so yeah... Depends on how cooperative baby wants to be
YAY, thanks guys! I made my 20 week appt last week and just found out today that the OH can't make that day/ time. It took me forever to schedule and I don't want to rearrange it now because I'm afraid the next opening will be too far out!
So, since the OH doesn't want me to find out the sex without him I'm thinking about scheduling an additional exam around 16 weeks and just paying for the 3D one and hoping the lil one cooperates!!
if you find a 3d place can you tell me how much it cost, and how long out your wait to get in? and where of course lol. i am in san diego too, and the 3d scan freak me out but i dont know if i am going to make it without knowing the gender...its killing me! lol.
