I really can't win, can I??

Ugh...so I've been suffering from terrible constipation for weeks and weeks...and last week it got really really bad and ended up having to do an enema, which was traumatizing to say the least. Doctor had recommended I take 2 colace a day and 1 dose of miralax a day...I was just taking the colace and occasionally the miralax. Now that I've been taking the miralax regularly I've been having painful stomach cramping. This is so annoying. I get constipated because I take Zofran, but I can't NOT take the Zofran because of my all day nausea. To cure the constipation, I should take miralax...but I have to endure stomach cramping. Ahhhhhh, its driving me mad August can't come soon enough!!!

Oh my god, if only lol I am still nauseous even ON the Zofran...especially in the evenings. The Zofran really only takes the edge off for me...but I feel sooo much worse if I don't take it at all. Unfortunately the sickness is hanging around and I can't do without

Haha, they didn't warn me about this with Zofran at all -- extra magnesium did help though...that and I limit myself to one Zofran a day. I had to organize my schedule so that I could do my homework in bed during the horribly tummy-sick part of the day and get all of my other work/house cleaning done during the 5-ish hours that Zofran is effective.

Yeah no one warned me about the constipation either...not that I could have gone without though. I take 2 pills a day...and the evening one doesn't really do all that much.

Don't know if it would help you but I was suffering from awful constipation and the midwife sorted me a prescription for something called lactulose which has sorted it out completely. I have to take every evening before bed. It is not harsh at all so doesn't give me any cramps like other laxatives, it is just a stool softener. You can buy it over the counter too. Not sure how it would work with the Zofran, but it has saved me from constipation!

Edit: I was just reading this wiki page and saw the list of possible side effects, I have to say I've never experiences any side effects from it, not even the 'pungent flatulence' lol

In a few short months we will look back on this and laugh. =) I swear I spend more time focused on bathroom issues than life itself. The bathroom actually controls my schedule.
