HB in early days, boy or girl?

I had a scan yesterday and baby's hb was 157bpm, i have heard that lower means boy,higher means girl. I don't remember what my DS's was....so share with me please,im curious

They say that over 140 is girl...

But I also read somewhere that the heart rate theory was only applicable during labour

It's not accurate at all, just an old wives' tale. I believe it is true only after they are born. Either way it's still essentially a 50% chance, though

my little boy's heartbeat has been between 140 and 160 bpm so doesnt ring true for us! i cant remember how fast my little girls heartbeat was xxx

Bobbys never went under 160 so not true for us

not accurate. my little boy's heartrate fluctuates between 140-160. in early days it was in the high 170s.

at 6 weeks- 135 bpm
at 8 weeks-165 bpm
at 11 weeks-175bpm
at 15 weeks-157 bpm
now: 140-150

I think that the heartbeat continues to get faster until about 9-10 weeks, peaking at 170-180. At around 12 weeks it slows to between 120-160bpm and should remain in that range throughout the rest of the pregnancy. So Im sure the theory (which is really just an old wives tale with no clinical back up) only applies after the 12 week mark. More than 140 is supposed to signify a girl and less than 140 is supposed to signify a boy xx

At 7 weeks my little girls HB was 176 then dropped down and stayed between 140-150

My son's was 187 at 10 weeks. Is now usually 155-165.

It's a silly old wive's tale.
