I was offered the 16wks bloods for downs syndrome, urine, blood pressure, feel of my tummy and listened to baby's heartbeat with doppler - so, in and out in 2 minutes!

I think it depends on the area, we dont see the midwife from the initial appt to 21w. My experience was:

8w - See midwife, lots of notetaking no tests
12w - Ultrasound, urine, blood pressure, blood test, carbon monoxide test.

20w - back in for another scan
21w - see midwife again

I had to do a urine sample, had blood pressure taken then they listened to Heart beat . No blood sample this time.

They asked me if I had felt any movements and they wrote that down in my notes.

20 mins max.

Another thing I would say is take your partner if he is available as it's nice for him to hear the heartbeat too - my OH was upset he missed that part and will defo come with me next time.

My 16wk appointment was at about 15 wks and they tested urine sample, did blood pressure, asked how was getting on. She said she wasnt going to try liaten to heartbeat as may not pick up yet. I got to listen at hospital when was about 17wks and had to go in and get checked out for small bleed. Xx
