Frequent Urination - normal or infection?

I have been peeing more frequently over the past few days, and I thought it was normal and just down to the baby getting bigger. I've been pregnant before and I didn't pee this frequently even when I was full term with her, but I still peed lots. And I know many women pee more than I do, so...

But this morning I went to my midwife appointment. She tested my pee and said there's blood and protein in it, so I may have an infection coming along. She asked if I'd had backache or lower abdominal pain, and I said no. She never asked me about frequent urination though.

This afternoon I've been drinking a little more than normal, but not loads. I have been peeing like a trooper all day. I usually pee once every 4 hours, ish. But today I've peed about once an hour. And when I was going to put my daughter in the bath, I went for a pee just before, and then 10 mins later I had to go all over again, and it was a proper sized pee, not a little trickle.

I'm thinking this is abnormal, but I can't help thinking I'm only thinking it's abnormal because I've been told I may have an infection. What are your thoughts? Is anyone peeing this frequently during pregnancy?

i didnt have any symptoms of an infection until something ever so slight was picked up in a sample at the hospital...turns out i had some sort of bug, and ended up on antibiotics. did i think i peed more? i dont know...but i dont think my first batch of antibiotics shifted it, because NOW im noticing im going a bit more than usual, plus starting to have really bad cramps every few days around bladder.
Yes, pregnant women do pee (a lot lol) but i think come 2nd tri it should ease as the uterus isnt growing and pressing on the bladder as it comes out of the pelvis as it does in 1st, and the baby isnt big enough to squish every organ in the body as in 3rd, so i would perhaps go see your GP, they might want to send off a urine sample to hospital to be tested to make sure

I pee all the time and apparently im all good and have no infection. Pee at least once an hour during the day and am up at least 4 times in the night! I actually pee'd 10 minutes before my scan and my bladder was still full again by the time I went in! My little bubs is generally laying head down so I think that it making me worse this time around. Typical... lol

Thanks I've been peeing less today, so it's weird. They have sent my sample to the lab for testing, so we will see.

During the day I pee every 20-30 minutes, but I am drinking liters. It's very annoying, but I'm used to it now.
