I've lost another 8 lbs in three weeks. That's 19 lbs since my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm not TRYING to lose weight... hardly any food is appealing; I force myself to eat. I'm down to trying protein shakes but anytime I eat too much (which is less than half what is normal...) I feel nauseated.
I had a gastric bypass in 2007... and so I have absorption issues anyway, but I was 185 lbs at 5'5" and a size 14 petite/medium top before I got pregnant which is still considered a pretty heavy BMI, even with having a personal trainer for 6 months and working out religiously. Now I'm down to 166 lbs... less than I was post-surgery (post surgery weight was 174, pre-surgery I was 275 lbs). My belly is popping a little so my clothes still fit, but everyone remarks on how skinny my face is and I noticed that my arms are getting pretty thin...
How is it I can lose weight without even trying at the one point in my life where I'm actually supposed to, have a licence to, am FREE to gain weight!?! I'm just dumb-founded.
i also am in exactly the same boat i too had a gastric bypass (2008) i had lost 15lbs from finding out i was pregnant until 2 weeks ago so basically 15lbs in 21 weeks. every week that passed that i lost or didnt gain weight i worried about how it might be affecting LO but doctors kept reassuring me that things were fine.
finally at 21 weeks i weighed myself and had gained 1lb back and this week i have gained another 1lb
i still struggle eating anything remotely like i normal size portion of food but try to snack on things like cheese, yogurt, fruit during the day
my little man is doing great and happily kicking away so i know everything is ok with him so try not to worry you will start to gain weight eventually (and then wish you weren't if your like me )
if you ever need to talk to someone else that has had a gastric bypass feel free to PM me x
