About and hour and a half ago i had a bowel movement (sorry if tmi) ive not been constipated but felt id need to go since i got up.
I was at work and was hoping to finish before needing to go but got a bit uncomfortable and when i went to the loo it was quite urgent. I felt some discharge come out which was nornarmal but after wiping i saw watery red y like the first bit of period.
Have called the maternity unit and they have told me to monitor it. Ive had nothing more since.
I just wanted to see if others had had this and if they know what caused it
Did the discharge come from your bum? If so perhaps you're getting piles. I've had them on and off over the past few weeks even though I haven't had constipation - it's to do with your uterus pressing down on your rectal area, causes pressure and hence, piles.
You could have just irritated your cervix by pushing, its super sensitive during pregnancy and especially if you aren't bleeding anymore I wouldn't worry too much, just try and take it easy and relax for a little while.
I had this at 7 weeks, it freaked me out big time! I hadn't been for a BM for a day or two and I strained to get it out (tmi!). I had an emergency ultrasound shortly after and thankfully all was okay.
The Midwife said I had probably burst a blood vessel in my vaJJ/cervix, as it's all quite delicate down there for us at these times!! I am sure that's what's happened hun Like your MW says, just keep an eye on it x
Like the others said, straining can definitely cause a few drops of blood from the front or back! I think of it as similar to my on-and-off bloody nose. All those tissues are just extra sensitive. Just because I see bits of blood when I blow my nose sometimes doesn't mean I have a brain hemorrhage. It may reoccur next time too, but don't let it worry you. Only if it is continuous or heavy or unconnected with pooping, sex, etc.
I know you said you're already sure it came from the front....but I had bleeding hemorrhoids a couple weeks ago and the blood horrified me! It was in the toilet water and at first I thought it was from my vag. I almost fainted! But I think as long as your dr didn't seem very concerned don't worry but they may tell you to take stool softeners as my dr told me.
