I'm 19 weeks and have an anterior placenta. I've had a doppler since week 10 and have actually found it harder to pick up the heartbeat since the placenta started functioning. Even now i can sometimes take at least 15 mins and it's only really, really faint because he's hidden himself up behind it. The placenta is also really noisy so i have to strain to hear it over all the swooshing! I'm sure you'll be fine xxx

Didn't want to r&r, hope everything is ok

I had a 16w sexing scan and sonographer said don't be shocked if you cnt find hb with a Doppler, baby is all snug under the placenta! So it does happen!

Fingers crossed for you x

All is FINE!!!!

The scan showed i have an anetonic placenta? so the placenta was blocking the sound of the heartbeat. Soooo relieved. Thank you to you all for your kind words.

Glad to hear everything is ok

I must admit I would be worried too if it was me - I have my 16 week appointment next week and if the midwife can't find a heartbeat I will be having a private scan for peace of mind

Stay positive. My midwife told me before she used the doppler at 16 weeks that it was likely she wouldnt hear anything and if she didnt it was completely normal. x

Knave had 4 miscarriages but these were all before 7 weeks. Im obviously very worried , anyones thoughts would be great
Please dont worry my lovely. I had EXACTLY THE SAME THING

My midwife couldnt hear my babies heart at my 16wk apt. I was so scared. She told me to go walk about and go back. Again she tried for 10 mins and still nothing so she called the hospital and managed to get me in that same day. I had enough time to race to take someone with me (my dad was the only one around bless him) we went in, and the lady said how are you. I managed a smile through my worry. She then started and she said I bet your heart was going. I said yeah, she said so is your babys She showed me the heart flashing on the screen the day ended up with me and dad in tears of relief.
Its prob just you baby hiding. They are still quite small so its no wonder it isnt easy to find sometimes.
But it is so hard not not worry and think the worse. I was crying on the way to the hospital. Im sure everything is fine, i just feel for you having to wait so long

Try and stay positive and let us know

xx
