First off no judging me because i was in a really low place. I am pro-life strongly and this was me outta my mind. I had morning sickness so bad i was on zofran 4mg from week 9-13 i was barely eating and then i ended up very sick. My morning sickness turned into hyperemsis which had my eating disorder resurface. i was afraid to eat and i thought i was dying turns out i was because my body could not take in food at that point and a medicene called Reglin they were giving me was giving me seizures and i lost my vision i couldnt focus and all the hospital was saying was i was doing this to myself and i belonged in a mental hospital. I finally told my mom (when i was coming off the med reglin) i wanted an abortion i was no good for my baby that i was killing her. She went off on me told me i would be a murderer. I stuck it out and was transferred to a hospital where they told my mom i would have died if i was at that place for one more day because REGLIN WAS KILLING ME! I was at that hospital for a week and was doing so well i was allowed to leave with a promise of counseling which i go to weekly. but i want all of you girls to know REGLIN CAN KILL YOU! i also want you all to know that i love my little girl and can not believe i thought about getting an abortion. I have been home for 2 weeks and am doing well. I go back to check my weight gain tuesday im nervous cause if i havent gained enough then i will need a feeding tube. but i have been eating better. But IM TELLING YOU THIS MEDICINE CAN KILL YOU AND YOUR BABY IF YOUR NOT CAREFUL IT HAS MORE RISKS THAN BENEFITS!

Oh hun I dont think anyone would judge you for the way you felt at the time, you were thinking that making that choice would be the kindest thing to do for your baby and trying to be selfless. I am so so sorry for your experience and the way the hospital treated you. Thank goodness you finally found some supportive and unjudgmental medical staff. I hope that everything from now on is positive and you are able to enjoy your pregnancy xx

i am 17 weeks also and lost 18 lbs so far... i can't eat out of fear of throwing up, been in the hospital a couple times due to dehydration.
I am on Zofran and Phenegran all day every day since week 8... which i cant due, i cannot take care of my DD and take phenegran. I am getting better and i am eating a little a day. i think i even gained a pound or two ... we will see next week

Im allergic to phenegran found out when i was pregnant but i take 8mg of zofran every day twice a day i lost 20+ lbs

Wow. I hate to take medication and never do if I can help it. I have never had anything stronger than Excedrin because I am scared of side effects. I cant imagine going through a pregnancy with ed following you around. I just read another post about a mother with an eating disorder. I hope there is someone else you can talk to on here.

wow so glad your better now sounds like you went through alot definatly no judgement here I just take zofran when I feel I need it so not everyday now but I was taking it alot a few weeks ago Ive never heard of Reglin.

I'm very glad you are doing better and I would never judge you, especially since you would have done NOTHING wrong. I am staunchly pro-choice, but am anti-abortion when it comes to repeated abortions as birth control.

Your case is different as your pregnancy was threatening your life. I believe you made the best choice by getting a second opinion and stopping the medicine that was so detrimental to your health. Abortion is a touchy subject but I don't believe an unborn baby is more important than the person who carries it. What good would it have done if you both had died?

sorry you had to find out this way, but that medicine is no different than a lot of other medicines prescribed by doctors. they are all toxic to the body, some more than others, so it depends on the person for how long it takes to show symptoms that your body doesn't like it. the best way to treat is to prevent & i would only take certain drugs in emergencies.
