Best gestation for 3D / 4D scan

My OH's parents have bought us a 3D / 4D private scan Which I just phoned to book an appointment for. Now it says on their website that the scan can be done between 22-32 weeks gestation and me, my OH and both sets of grandparents all happen to have one week off work when I will be 24 weeks so I thought this would be the perfect time to book Well I just called and the man said that at 24 weeks the baby would probably be too small and the pictures will be rubbish and tried to get me to book for later... but literally the next time we can all get off together (and they have availability for) would be at 31 weeks and I just feel this is too long away! So I booked it for when I will be 24+1 but now I'm worrying it will be rubbish

Did anyone have a 3D / 4D scan at 24 weeks and were the pictures ok?

I'm having one done this Friday (23 weeks and 3 days so a little bit under). I'll let you know what they're like

somebody told me around 28-30 weeks. because you dont want the baby too small or too squished. But hopefully some other ladies can answer who have had experience

I heard the best time is around 28 - 32 weeks . Thats the time when baby got already little bit of fat under the skin and the baby is not too small but it is not too big and also its better probability the baby will look the way he/she is going to look after the birth . I think 24 weeks is too small . I would love to have one now ( I am 27 weeks ) , but its worth it to wait . But its up to you

When we booked our 4d scan the receptionist said that the time they advise you is around 27 weeks to best see features. This is b'cos the baby still has a bit of room to move about but also features can be easily recognised. We booked ours for 27+3 but I've seen pics from people who had theirs done earlier than this and they looked great I was really impressed at 16 weeks when we found out we're on team at how clear the 4d peak was (my display pic is from 16 weeks).

I am a sonographer at a high risk OB office and we have played around with our 3-D a lot and you get the best pic's between 28-30 weeks. Hope this helps.
