hot spicy food while pregnant


hi, this might sound like a really odd question but can u have spicy food while pregnant. got vindaloo on the brain. sorry if i sound like a div but curious.

They advise that to start labour as it irtates the bowel so then brings on conractions but ONLY if your body is ready , so if u want one i cant see why not xxx

Yeh i should think so, i have had spicy stuff by accident before and its been ok even though i was worried it was going to start something off hehe.

Go for it i say ... but if you feel funny dont carry on eating it

As far as ive read on the safe to eat list, u can eat spicy food, its not dangerous x

i eat spicy food quite often and have been told its fine. not by my mother she thinks i am being evil to baby! i had quite a hot curry on new years eve and baby was jumping about like a loon so be prepared it might wake baby up tho!

i eat pizza's with jelopino(sp?) peppers on them most of my family look at me like im crazy because they find it to hot lol

I have ate spicey things throughout my pregnancy.... curries, jaleponos etc etc.... I think its when you get near your due date that hot food can bring on uterus contractions.

I'm sure you're fine to eat spicy food, as the others have said it only brings on contractions if you're already about to pop. One word of warning though, I find I throw up after every curry I eat because I get bad heartburn, if you're suffering with that I'd steer clear - but otherwise enjoy!

It's fine, although some people find it doesn't agree with them - ever since I've been pregnant curry suddenly smells vile to me and anything with too much spice is really hot for me. Oh, except for wasabi, for some reason I can't get enough of that!
