I always said I would get my first tattoo for my first child.
When we lost our little Ella, I stayed true to that promise. My avatar here is the image that I forever carry on my inner forearm for her. My fiance has the same one, also on his inner forearm.
It looks as though our little boy is here to stay, though! And here's hoping.
I was thinking it seems a little unfair to have one for a child that has passed, but not one who is alive. And so I have decided that my second tattoo will be for our little Jakey.
I haven't decided entirely what I want. Internally, I affectionately refer to him as my little "jay cub." I know it's silly, but I have an affinity for wild cats, and he'll be my little cub.
With that, I was thinking I would get an image of a tiger cub for him.

How about you? Will you or your OH be getting a tattoo for your little one? And if so, will you be choosing one yourself, or will you wait until baby is old enough to have a personalized and pretty much dictate what defines him or her first?
I love hearing about tattoo ideas and designs, especially ones that mean so much.

***And just a quick note: ladies, if you will be breastfeeding in any way, be sure to wait until after your baby is entirely weaned before getting a tattoo, for safety's sake!***

yes we will probably very very soon after he is born! my husband has 12 and i have 5 already so yes we will!

I have a heart on my right forearm which I'm going to do something with when she is here. I'm not sure what though, as it's a small heart. Either that or get a completely different one. I was thinking getting a heart done on my chest where my heart is. I dunno, it's hard to think what, but deffo getting one done.

I'm going to get one around my wrist, like a bracelet, of all my kids names and birth dates. someday not sure when, probably after taxes sometime since if I get one DH has to have one too

Oh I would love to get a tattoo.
I've been thinking about getting another for a while now (I want a full sleeve), but can't think of exactly what.
Obviously can't get one for a while, but just gives me more time.
Think maybe since our LO will be born in year of the dragon, I'll get a dragon done. Probably a chinese dragon. Not sure if I'd want that wrapped around my arm... maybe that w/ some pretty flowers and whatnot. Still plenty of time to come up with something

I won't, but my OH will. He already has our daughter's name on his arm so will probably get this baby's name tattooed somewhere too.
