Thyroid- high levels on blood test. Anyone had this? Can it do damage?

Hi all. On my blood test my thyroid measured high for some reason. Was asked if Im on any meds or steroids which Im not. I was given a scan today and baby looks great and will be having regular checks on levels, also been prescribed meds. But what does this mean? Has anyone else had it? I dont want anything to harm the baby. Obgyn seemed happy enough with things in general....

I have hyperthyroidism, graves disease to be exact and I'm on med all the time for it, just had to increase mine as my thyroid came back through the roof, now thyroid levels do rise about this time but so long as you have regular blood tests you will be fine hun,xx

Definitely keep an eye on it! One of my friends who has a beautiful baby girl (just shy of 4 years old now I believe?) saw me this weekend for the first time in several weeks and one of the first pieces of advice that she had for me was to make sure if anything "seems off" to get my thyroid checked out -- apparently hers stopped working during her pregnancy and it took her doctors a while to diagnose it as the cause of the problem.

Now your doctors know and are keeping an eye on it, you should be fine!
I know that thyroid issues can sadly cause first tri miscarriages, but once they are treated and monitored everything is ok.
You sound like you have a good proactive doctor
