How far along are you? It could be your uterus stretching. There is an awful lot of growing going on in a short space of time in second tri. Hope everything turns out OK for you.

I have no idea I'm sorry... the only thing I can think of that would cause stomach pains without leading to diarrhoea is constipation... but that doesn't really explain everything else you've got going on.

So I'm afraid I'm not a lot of use, but I wanted to reply to say that I hope you get some answers and it's all ok. If you've already got as far as a+e/the emergency room then you are obviously genuinely worried about it so my opinion would be that you might as well stay now and see what they have to say. Unless anyone else can give you some more useful help anyway!

I hope you feel better soon

I get these pains for a few days (I think its constipation) then end up with diarhea and it goes away for a while. The hardening of the tummy though sounds like it could be braxton hicks which I have also been getting since 20wks. It actually takes the breath out of me but goes away. As long as they don't become more frequent, stronger or last longer they are quite normal.

Not sure about the fever there are a lot of bugs about at the minute it could just be a coincidence that its all happening at the same time.

Hopefully the hospital will be able to put your mind at eased, hope everything is ok. x

Hi girls..I decided to go home
As the waiting period at hospital was about another 3 hours ! And I just wanted to sleep!
I'm still worried but it could be anything ! I'm 18+6 weeks! I havent been able to go
To the toilet so I'm not sure if it's just bloating and constipation! It's just so hard to
Tell because all symptoms have millions of reasons! ;(
I'm at home now in bed but I'm going to
Be worried all night! Mum said its normal because there's so much pushing and shoving as the uterus grows!

It does sound like growing to me, I had it between 16 and 18 weeks.
Midwife told me not to worry unless there was any blood.
I know it's scary though!
Have a nice warm bath and try and be comfy.
Eat plenty of fruit and other things with fibre in them, will help along if it is constipation.
A week or so will pass,
you'll catch your bump in the mirror and go
"WOW! must have been growing pains!"

I am a first time mum and I really don't want to tell you what it might be as I have no idea and would just be giving random advice, but, personally I really underestimated how uncomfortable being constipated is in pregnancy! If it is 'just' constipation (I know it certainly doesn't feel like 'just' for me!), then I can easily see how you could be worried it was something more.

I have had some stretching type pains too but you haven't described them how I would, so I don't want to compare or assume we have the same thing. However, from that I do know that some pain is completely normal.

Having said that, I do think you need to get checked out if you are really suffering- better safe than sorry. Get well soon, I hope things look up soon xxx

Hi, I am a 2nd time mum and I have these cramps, they are so bad I need to double over. However, I am not worried at all about them. I suspect mine is from constipatoin, the intestines get very sluggish in pregnancy and they are slowly getting squished up as well. There is all kinds of stuff going on inside us that its not suprising we are in discomfort. Try and relax and I bet they will ease up over the next few days.
