Tax Credits and Maternity Leave

Hi all, I hope somebody can help me a few questions I have please

Can I claim tax credits whilst on materntiy leave or only when i go back to work part time ? I work full time at the moment.
If yes when should I be doing this ? Should I have all the forms filled in to send off as soon as I go on leave ?

Help with Child Care Costs when I do go back to work, is this the same thing as working tax credits or can I claim this separtley ?

I want to make sure I get everything I will be entitled to but its a minefield !!
If I am entitled to more money whilst on materntiy I may be able to have longer of with my new baby. Any help please !!!!

There you go ladies..

As long as you fulfil the requirements of tax credits just before going on mat leave then you are entitled to working tax credit during your maternity leave.
