Worried (for a friend) about money

My friend was signed of work because of SPD. However she says she has not worked long enough/earned enough to get Sick Pay. She has now stopped receiving Working Tax Credits because they say she is not classed as working however her boss will not let her return to work due to it being too unsafe for her to do the job. She has put in a claim for ESA but she's afraid they'll tell her she's fit to work as she could still sit in an office, but the problem is that she doesn't work in an office, she works as a cleaner, cleaning hotel rooms where she has to drag heavy trolley's around and get on her hands and knees to scrub and make sure the room is spotless.

She now has just £100 a week to live on as her husband is out of work because he had a hernia 18 months ago and had to leave work and has not been able to find work since. She has 2 children and another on the way.

Any advice for my friend as she is really down and I fear all this stress is not good for her and the baby xx

Tell her to get to citizens advice asap.....they generally have people there who know what she should be able to claim and they'll probably be more helpful than the job centre.

Sorry I can't help with the rest but I can say that sitting at a desk in an office is just as bad for spd as cleaning. I worked at a desk when pregnant with dd and my spd got so bad I could hardly walk.

That's what she is like, she's been told she might have to have crutches but she thinks they're gonna tell her she's fit enough for work, which tbh wouldn't surprise me as there was a man with Kidney Failure on dialysis in this town who was told he was fit to work!!!!
