Changing Bags - Essential?

Hi,

Might be a silly question but is a changing bag essential?
Are they just bags with a lot of conveniently sized pockets?
Can you use a normal bag?

Yes, any larger bag with enough space will do. Most changing bags will have loads of compartments in the right sizes for nappies and wipes and that, but they are not essential. If you're worried about money or you want to use a bag that you already have but would like more pockets, you can get bag inserts for cheap...or make one.

Also, think about how the bag will attach to the pram. You may just have to add a couple of loops on each side or something like that.

Oh, also, if you join the boots parenting club you'll get a free one with a pack of pampers, it's basic, but does the job.

I have 2 in nappies and never use a changing bag. I tend to bung a carrier bag with a few nappies, extra baby grow and a pack of wipes under the buggy.

I got my boots one the other day and its ok. I think its going to become OH's changing bag/spare one.

With your bounty pack you should have got a voucher for £2 off Pampers nappies. Once you join boots you get a voucher for 50p off and your changing bag voucher (free with pack of Pampers).

I handed over all the vouchers when picking up my bag and got £2.50 off the nappies so got the bag for about 90p! Love a bargain!!!

p.s I just moved away from Edinburgh a few months ago. Think we have spoken before but I have the memory of a goldfish just now. x

I treated myself to a fancy bag. Don't use it tho, oops! I use the boots free one or stick a couple of nappies in my handbag. Depends if you need space for bottles etc we BF so just took nappy/wipes when he was little x

I think any bag would do it doesn't have to be a changing bag specifically unless you want it matching your pram set! Some of them are expensive! I looked at a few and they were all around £80! I will have to check out this free bag at boots though I'm sure I'm signed up to them. Did anyone else get the voucher for a free 36 pack of huggies newborn nappies at tesco with their bounty pack?
