Hello ladies, I was just layed here in bed still 'cus I'm lazy like that , and the skin on my boobs and tummy is sooo itchy!!!!!!! I'm quite skinny and tall - I will put a picture up soon so you guys can see how big I am now compared to before - and I've got a little bump already but it feels like my skin has done so much stretching already and I really should take a picture of my boobs before and after for you guys to see - honestly I look I had a boob job done!
Anyway I sometimes watch pregnancy Vblogs(is that what they're called?) on Youtube and I quite enjoy it, but I watched one about this girl who had no strectch marks whatsover while she was pregnant but as soon as she gave birth she got LOADS of stretchies on her tummy!! She used lots of cream during pregnancy too ( she bought the most expensive ones that she could find ). So I'm a bit worried that I'm going to get stretchies too!!
I don't put weight on easily, in fact I never put any weight on and when I did it all went on my bum so I have got a couple of stretch marks on my bum from puttin and losing weight but they are very faded you can hardly see them so it've never really bothered me!!
But the skin on my boobs has stretched a LOT and on my tummy too!! I feel like the top half of my body is so big now but anyway, sooooooooo I was wondering if any of you guys are using any anti stretch marks creams and if you are, what are you using?
I mean, I always use my everyday body lotion after I shower and I always put LOADS of baby oil on my nipples cus it really does help with the soreness and itchyness but other than that I havent really bought anything to avoid gettin stretchies! I have to say, but mother never had stretch marks during or after pregnancy and her body looks perfect! But then everybody is different so I don't know!!!
I'm not sure what cream is best but I know that keeping hydrated is a factor in the elasticity of skin. I seem to have developed loads of stretchys in my inner thighs hips and boobs. It looks weird, I look like a zebra hybrid. I use royal jelly moisturiser. clearly it's not working. lol. I will be stalking this thread to see if anyone has a solution! Xx
Unfortunately there is nothing that will keep you from getting them if you are going to get them. Using lotions religiously may minimize how many you get, but it won't keep you from getting them at all. A lot of whether you get them is genetics, so if you have family members who got loads, you are more likely to get them. Or vice versa.
Only advice I have is to keep using lotion all the time, as it will help some. Also, try to not itch it because I noticed when I was prego with my son that I seemed to get more of them in areas that I kept itching. Although it was probably just the skin stretching that much in those areas that made it itchy and caused stretchies, I just have that itching thing burned in my mind now, lol. I ended up with my tummy being covered in stretch marks, literally covered. I had them up and down my whole tummy. But they don't look too bad anymore, they fade back to close to skin tone after a while. But I won't ever wear a bikini again, that's for sure! lol. I don't care too much at this point though, because honestly, my son was so worth every one of them
3rd time pregnant and i've got to say the best thing I've found for stretchmarks is baby oil! I put a good squirt in the bath everytime and also massage it directly onto my boobs, back, thighs and belly every day! I never used it with my first and got covered in them. Second time I did the baby oil (and I must add I got a much bigger belly than with my first) and didnt get a single stretchmark! Also so far so good with baby No.3! Hope this helps
I've just used baby oil so far- they say it's genetic, but sure if you keep hydrated, keep the skin moisturised and massaged, plus keeping active allegedly? At least this should go some way to helping?! My friend is giving me some bio oil to try
Location: Country Western Australia (middle of nowhere!)
i use bio oil and cocoa butter and so far no stretchmarks. however, everything i've read says that creams do nothing to stop them, and it's all down to the speed of your weight gain and genetics. i'm not going to stop using the creams though, just in case...
Baby oil for me too! It might be a little messy but it hydrates very well. Also, on alternate days I use 100% cocoa butter. It smells amazing!!! Just like chocolate And...it's left my skin very soft. This is my first so I can't be sure that I won't get stretchies but I figure I might as well try.
i've also heard that you can't really prevent them. I've been using Bio oil and palmers cocoa butter (not religiously) and they haven't helped
I've heard they are genetic too and if you are going to get them then you will. I suppose there is no harm in carrying on with the creams though, they should reduce the appearance after the birth etc. xx
