I would just skip the newborn sizes... My first never fit in them, she was too tall. Maybe you could have a couple on hand just in case.

I went out and bought 0-3 and 3-6 from the second hand store because honestly they grow out of sizes SO FAST (and they make a right mess of their outfits with poop-splosions and spit up and what not. No point buying nice clothes for a little one when they get so dirty!) and you really don't need a whole lot of them before they're too big.

For my baby shower I asked people to buy clothes that were 6+ months only. It was awesome, I STILL have some clothes that she needs to grow into, and she's 2!! It was a huge help whenever someone wanted to buy her clothes to ask for the older sizes, you just have to remind people to buy season appropriate outfits lol

Basically, what I'm reading from everyone, is to buy a little of everything and see how fast the baby grows and adjusts?

I'm getting a set of 3 sleep suits and vest up to 1month and everything else 3-6months because babies usually lose a bit of weight after birth then plump up again I just hate when nothing fits and is over sized on them x

a lot of 0-3months go upto 14-15lbs so even if you have a 10lber 0-3 may still be really big. i havn't bought loads of newborn but have bought a lot of 0-3 x
