For Baby:
2 small blankies
2 or 3 changes of clothes
Half a dozen diapers
Wipes

For me:
Nightgown for labour
Nightgown for post-labour
2 changes of clothes
Hygiene supplies
Extra thick and absorbent maxi pads for post-baby bleeding
Breast pads
Snacks for hubby during labour, and for me for after.

Anything else will be easy to get.... my new home is a 5 minute walk form the hospital so I can send hubby home at any time lol.

I think I will pack the bare minimum as I seem to always overpack and never stay long. Will probably make a list of things I "might" need and tick them off for OH to bring in the next day if I want them rather than bring a whole heap of stuff just incase. It's basically just an overnight bag and baby bag here, never seen anyone arrive wheeling in a suitcase!

I took one suitcase for me and a mini one for Joe, a changing bag stuffed full and a massive handbag Ended up needing it all as well, and was having to send OH home with washing every day because I only had four bras and three nighties and was constantly soaked in milk and baby sick - we had to stay 8 nights in the end. The only thing I needn't have bothered packing was snacks and book for during labour (chance would've been a fine thing!) Everyone brought me so much food during visiting hours after that I was handing it out to the midwives (tip - if you end up staying longer than a night or two - sweeties/chocolate/muffins for the midwives gets you special treatment - they made sure I got food even if I was down in NICU and missed the meal trolley, got me a private room etc - I was so pampered I didn't want to leave )

I'll just take clothes, nappies, wipes and some wraps / blankets for bub. Oh and some face washers which the hospital says to bring for bathing bub.

It's so interesting to see everyones different lists, some things I would never think to take like bibs or pacifiers. I'm having more trouble thinking what to pack for myself, have never found the perfect pajamas for breastfeeding in comfort. My hospital also asks you to bring at least 4 packs of pads, I think that was all provided last time I had a bub. Sheesh I'll have to pack a suitcase afterall just to lug in all the nappies and maternity pads!!
