Buy a high chair now?

I was at Babiesrus and my DH asked if we're buying one, should we buy one even if the baby won't eat solids until 6 months??

I wouldnt bother getting one yet unless you find one you really like on sale. Chances are by the time your baby is 5-6 months you will see a newer cooler one you like better than ones you have seen so far!

I didnt buy a high cheer for DD till about a month ago. We usually fed her in her bouncy cheer or bumbo before that.

I'm getting the fisher price space saver one so it'll just sit in one of our dining room chairs and not take up room. Plus they're cheaper.

We have one but only because a friend wanted rid of hers. Its in excellent condition & she paid over £100 for it (mamas & papas) and we got it for £15. Couldnt say no really. It's in out loft til our LO needs it.

It might even be after 6 months that you start using it, it depends when he or she starts sitting up unaided, alot of people, myself included, use a bouncy chair or a bumbo seat to begin with. My ds hasnt been in his high chair THAT long and he is 10 months. If you have room then there is no harm in buying one now though! Like someone else said, i think if you see one you really like on sale, then you could get it? x

I've already got mine, but I have plenty of room to store it until it's needed. Personally, I prefer to get as much of the big stuff as I can so I'm not spending when the baby is already here... xx

That's what we'll be doing as well. I don't have a lot of space in our house. I had a big highchair for DD and ended up replacing it with a space saver one anyway.
