things people have offered to buy for you..

what things have people offered to buy for your bubs?
I was just writing a list of things we need (wont be shopping for a long time but i want to know how much to save up to be prepared) and it made me realize how generous people are

my grandparents have kindly offered to buy us our pram
my next door neighbor: a moses basket
my Oh's mum: the cot/bed
Oh's dad: a bath and toiletries and a bouncer
my dad: a car seat

I'm actually struggling to think of much else we need to save for! a changer and clothes storage and toys and clothes, nappies wipes....

can any one think of any other things I am missing?

share what people have bought for you

You are very lucky to have generous people in your life
This will be my third and final baby, everything i have ever bought me and DH and got ourselves and i have never had anyone offer to buy me anything. I got a lot of things that i have kept from DS 1 which are all neutral in colour and still great condition so i will be using that. but i will buy new clothes, and a few other bits and bobs baby needs

changing bag and mat?

I know I am blessed. I didn't even realize until I started writing this list. I didn't expect anyone to buy anything at all, I actually feel bad taking of people and we have been saving up already, but they all insisted, people get really generous when it comes to baby's! can't believe no one offered to buy anything for you, at least you know you provided for your child all through your own hard work I imagine that feels good!

ooh changing bag can't believe I forgot about that!!

That's awesome people are getting the big things for you, you are indeed very lucky to have a support system like that. It seems all you will still need are the little things like crib sheets, blankets, diapers, bottles etc.
Family has offered to buy me a crib, and a stroller but I can't be sure that they will actually buy them so I will save up just in case.

I was amazed at the amount of gifts we got when Joe was born, sometimes from people I'd never ever met (my brother's girlfriend's grandma, my dad's workmates, the man who owns the keycutting shop three doors down from our tattoo studio etc!) A new baby really does bring out a lot of people's good side.

Nobody's quite as excited second time round though I've found!

I'm very lucky too! OH's parents have bought us all the nursery furniture (cot, chest of drawers with changing unit and wardrobe), my parents would like to get us a Moses basket and my brother wants to get us the travel system. Other people are also asking what they can get and we are struggling to think of things! It's our first baby and we're pretty clueless lol xxx
