HELP Can't breath!

Ladies i really am finding it hard to breath! I can't seem to fill my lungs and i feel like i have an elephant sitting on my chest! Its been happening for a few weeks now but this morning it is very bad! Because i can't get my breath i am panicking (sp?) and i suffer from anxiety anyway so i'm getting myself really worked up, its really scarey and i was wondering if anyone knows of any positions i can get in to help me fill my lungs xxx

I've got myself into a right state now! I feel like ringing for an ambulance not a doctor. Need to calm down and stop crying coz its making it worse! I'm not usually one for drama like but i've got myself worked right up!

Firstly have you any tightness in your chest or does it hurt to breathe?
The hospital asked me this last week,I have the same thing.
I wake up in a complete panic because I can't get proper breaths out.
Its awful.

Dr's told me that everything is being pushed upward and no space and thats why I am having the problem.
He advised at night sleeping partly upright(lots of pillows) and that is helping a bit,at least I don't feel like I am drowning.

I get it in the day too and when I can't catch the breath I get hyper which makes it worse!

Its so awful hun xxx

Thanks cybermum. Its not pain but it feels quite tight but more like my lungs have shrunk and i can't fill them! I've calmed down now so i am breathing much better although its still uncomfortable. It seems to be worse after i've eaten, even if its just a little bit.

Loraloo, i tried all 4's and it did ease the discomfort a bit, thanx hun! xx

Its exactly the same way I am feeling snettyb (((hugs))).
When I eat I get it worse combined with lovely heartburn before it!

I try to focus on something else and pretend its not happening which is helping me not panic as much and get the breaths out

God,we women deserve medals for what we go through!
