Baby's heartbeat under my belly button...

Heard bumps heartbeat for the first time today with the midwife I have a little train! She found it just under my belly button. I asked when I'd start to feel movement and she said when bump moves above my belly button- about 22 weeks. That's ages away! Surely I'll at least feel flutters before then? Anyone any idea? xx

Its different for everyone. But you could very possibly start feeling flutters very soon!! Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

I've been feeling flutters since 11+5 but I'm really in tune with my body.

What I do is lay down once everyday and just feel, usually before bed... our babies are most active between 9pm-2am.

It was actually quite interesting.. I had a terrible headache for a few days and the movement stopped during those days and resumed as soon as i felt better.

It's hard to tell what's baby at first and it definitely doesn't happen everyday, but I think you'll probably feel something soon if you lay down and concentrate on it at night. Though, you could have a posterior uterus or whatever it's called and have to wait a bit longer.

Depending on where your placenta is you can feel movements pretty early sometimes. You may have an anterior placenta.
I think thats weird that she would say you wouldn't feel flutters til 22 weeks. I think midwives sometimes go more towards the extreme end so that none freaks out. This is my first baby and I was feeling kicks on the inside as well as the outside at 17 weeks. Flutters at around 15/16. Im pretty slim though. Well I was :P I've gained 15lbs so far in my pregnancy.
Im betting you will feel kicks by 18/19 weeks at least

Well I think she meant actual kicks to be honest and misunderstood what I'd asked. I'm pretty slim so am hoping I'll feel something soon! xx

I think AllyTiel was right when she said midwifes are cautious in what they tell us so we don't freak out. I went for a scan at 16 weeks and she said I would feel kicks in about 2 weeks from then but I was feeling them 2 days later and from the outside a week after that. It just depends on your body And ur bubs I think. Xx

I lost my memory so I'm not sure when I actually started feeling baby regularly. But I know at 18 weeks I was feeling baby on a regular basis. But I felt kicks before I felt flutters, mainly because I'm not well intuned with my body
