I think that's exactly it I still can't seem to let go of trying to control my weight so closely! I hope it is fluid retention but then is that only going to get worse if I've got 13 weeks left?!
I've gained 21 at almost 27 weeks.
I eat healthy and stay active. That's all I can do. The rest is up to my body and my baby. I trust it to do what it needs.
Same here. I've gained around 20, give or take. I eat healthy, exercise, and leave the rest up to what my body and baby need!

Im up 22lbs at 20 weeks

Tho I heard of a lady with severe hyperemesis, she wasnt given anti nausea drugs (it was a good few years ago) but was told that the baby would be fine as it would take all it needed from her body. The baby died at 23 weeks gestation and came out severely malnourished and starved. Next time she got pregnant she stayed in hospital the whole time and had a healthy baby.

So if I had to either have no weight gain/starvation or get fat, I'd choose the latter

with my first i gained 50 lbs and ironically i was so happy in myself - i had that glow people talk about.

this time i am the opposite, am worried about being left with a fat frump of a body and am being good (i eat 3 healthy meals a day - large meals but healthy). i also have probs more treats than i should but i know my weight gain will be less as i am more in control.

they say someone in the normal bmi range (i am in that range at 21.6 before pregnancy) should put on between 25 and 35 pounds.

I have put on 17lbs and am 26 weeks and i am honestly happy with that. i think this will mean i am close to putting on 35 pounds by the time i have the baby. this will be a stone less than last time and i am happy with that.

it wont take long to lose it, you lose about a stone (maybe more) just having the baby - as you have the baby, water, additional fluid if you have that too, additional blood flow and placenta etc. So i reckon i will be left with a stone and a half weight gain.

You can easily lose that in 9 months - a sensible weight loss of a pound a week would mean you lose stone and a half (21 pounds) in 21 weeks which is about 5 months.

Also - sometimes the baby has a growth spurt, one week (well 4 days of it) i would have eaten anything given to me... i put on 2.5lbs at that week. However it evens itself out, the week after i think i put on half a pound, and the week after nothing.

Try not to get obsessed about it (harder said than done as i am obsessed myself) -if you have a normal range bmi you will put on more. if you are underweight before that that you expected to put even more on and if your in the overweight category or obese category your expected to put less that the average on.

I was horrified to see I'd put on 30lbs so far! 12 of which is in the last 5 weeks, up until then I've been pretty much spot on with the weight gain. Still feeling pretty down about it but I've got swollen legs & ankles which will add weight, I can't do as much walking as I was due to back ache so not burning as many calories & I'm hungry all the time & my nausea is back so I'm eating more. It's no wonder I've put so much on really!!! My hope is on the fact that it'll be the summer when baby's born so I'll naturally be eating healthier & will be able to go back to my nice long walks in the sunshine. Hoping that will make the weight drop off again pretty quickly!
