3 hour GD test tomorrow - any tips? - Page 3

I don't have anyone coming with me. My mum and OH are both working. Just me on my tod in the hospital for hours. I'll just take a book with me lol x

Be warned ladies it is the MOST boring thing you will ever do! Next time I will not be taking my partner and just taking magazines! I felt sorry for him!

Gosh I ate sooo much when I came back!

If it is positive they will see if you can monitor it with diet and you have to test you r blood sugar levels several times today.

If they are concerned they will put you on tablets first to control it then as a last resort you have insulin. Just some things I got told today, really hoping everything is ok! I hate injections and needles.

Good luck for you ladies who have yours tomorrow - at least magazines come out then!

I PASSED

My results were well within the normal range apparently!

So happy

Still have to re-do them at 28 weeks but yey!

Omg it was horrible and proper thought I was gonna pass out. And then when I ate afterwards I thought I was just gonna throw it all back up!!!

I didn't though and I'm still feeling crappy from it...so wish I'd have taken the whole day off work because now I have to keep standing in front of the photocopier having only eaten a sandwich and a cake all day, and it's really hot in front of the copier but I have 750 pages that need copying and sending out TONIGHT!!!

Aww i hope i pass! i thought it was ok. apart from they struggled to get my blood the second time and iv got got a whopping bruise already. hey ho il know by tomorrow lunch time if i fail it. x

I'm glad that both your results were fine

I have my GTT next month and I am not looking forward to it mines at 9.20 so I am hoping that I do not wake up starving that morning because I am sooo moody when I am hungry I do not like the sound of sitting around for 2 hours but it's got to be done. How long did it take for you ladies to get your results ?

I haven't had my results but she said that if I didn't hear from her all was well so that's good!!

it wasnt too bad. the worst thing was bein sat there so bored for 2 hours. take a book or someone with you. you get the results the next day. make sure you have a decent tea the night before. i had pasta to fill me up. yea she said she would ring me if there was a problem but i double checked coz i had to go into work so didnt know if she had phoned at home so phoned to check and my levels were really low. so thats good. wont have to do that again thank god!

I'm glad it wasn't to bad for you, that's the part I am not looking forward to sitting around for 2 hours I will make sure I have some mags with me also. Oh that's good I wasn't sure how quickly the results came back I shall just make sure I have my phone on me all the next day incase. That's really good I bet you are relived that you won't be having to do that again, glad it went well and your results came back clear
