Thought I had a noticable bump...

Just a rant thread this one...

I am quite disapointed because I am plus sized and don't have the classic "round baby bump" that thin ladies get but my bump is, what I thought, quite large and sticking out above my belly button, DH and my mum etc notice my bump getting bigger but I have come in to work this morning and the doctor I work for said she can't even tell I'm pregnant! I know it is stupid but it has upset me as I want a lovely bump that people notice and I thought that's what I had! She did mention the top I had on was a good one for hiding the bump but when I put it on this morning I thought it showed off my bump!

Perhaps I'm just delusional

Rant over.

its a bit insensitive of her to say that. i don't think its right to comment on another woman's appearance whether she is pregnant or not! I've had loads of comments and people stare at me to analyse my bump and I hate it! just wear whatever you feel comfortable in and ignore her comments! I bet if you, your mum and OH can notice your bump, then you do look pregnant

On Saturday, my sister-in-law asked to touch my belly, I let her.

I said, "It just looks like I have eaten all the pies at the moment, and you can't tell there is a baby in there."

She said, "Oh no, you just look the same as you did before."

She is lovely, so I am sure she ment, that I don't look fat. But I sort of though, humph, if this is how i looked before then she must always think I look like I ate all the pies.

I know my SIL would never say anything mean, so I just moved past it, but it shows how something so harmless can actually trigger something more inside us. I guess its not helped by the crazy hormones.

PrincessJ - we can't win whatever our shape and size.
I think I've got quite an obvious little bump now, but the majority of my colleagues still keep saying that I look like I could "just be getting fat"!
I hope they're just trying to reassure, rather than making me feel like I look huge. However, I can't do up any of my trousers - it's pretty clear that my shape is changing!
Take no notice of the doctor - people sometimes just feel the need to say something and don't really think it through.

i dont have a proper bump yet but feel like my shape has changed and can no longer fit into some of my pre pregnancy clothes. depending on what i wear i think you can tell im pregnant, dh says so and my sil also said she noticed it in me. but at my check up last week my midwife said almost exactly the same thing to me! i havent gained any weight so far and i find this part to be dragging the most and wondering when im going to start looking pregnant instead of fat!
