Really worried we arent going to cope (money)

Argh.. i only work part time 35.5 hours a week. and my OH works full time but he has a DD from a previous relationship and he has now gotta go through courts for maitanence (his ex has cut her hours down at work so wants a wage top up which means she has to take them to court) ive got to magically find £600 in the next few months (ive only just started work so not had a fully pay and have playschool fees and few bills to pay off)

I just dont know how we are going to cope with 3 kids with so little money LO wasnt planned but we wouldnt change it for the world now

Any one else stressing about money? xxx

Im in the same situation. We had DD number one and were struggling bad for awhile but finally have gotten on our feet only to find out we have DD 2 coming. Im definetly stressing out. We have a small 1 bedroom apartment and are trying to afford a 2 bedroom cottage. Just a matter of really being frugal from now on

We are... I'm nannying on a PT basis, OH runs his own company, but it's in the early months and isn't making enough to pay the bills. He's getting a FT job to help make up. We're behind on bills, we were both unemployed for a while... He has loans that he owes his family and I've got student loans. We're also paying for his ex's student loans because she left the country with his Dad's cosign on the loan.

We live in a tiny studio apartment and we thought for a while that maybe we can move before the baby, but I've realized that's just hope. There's no way we can afford it now.

This baby was planned in times that seemed like everything was going to be great. Then deal after deal fell through and we've been left with almost nothing. It's been tough. I wouldn't change it for the world, but I always told myself I'd make sure my children had better standards than I did growing up and it's pretty scary somedays thinking it might not get better.

Okay ladies... I know your worries and woes all too well. I've been there, and could be there again at any point in my life. Where there is children and a loving mother, there will always be a way to provide for them financially, maybe not keep up with the best of the best... but there will be a way for them to have what they need. That is just what mothering is all about.

You'll surprise yourself I'm sure, try not to worry and maybe sit down and tell OH you're worried and look at any changes you can make.

My DH was miserable in his job an it was really well paid so he didn't feel he could leave it, but we made the decision and this year he's been a student. I have been working part time (only 18 hours).

Had no idea how we would manage but somehow we end up with money left in the bank each month - something we never had when we were both earning well (and something that has randomly saved our bacon as the boiler just packed in argh!).

But where I thought there were no more cuts that could be made as we lived frugally anyway lol I have been surprised that somewhere we must have.

Could you be eligible for any help if it's a short term (possibly) thing? Might be worth seeing citizens advice, particularly if you're getting really worked up. Try to relax - easier said than done I know X

So sorry to hear of your money troubles, but as for it affecting your parenting skills, all a baby needs is a warm safe environment with parents/parent that will love it. These fancy toys and clothes are just an extra, good luck on a happy and healthy life with baby x
