2nd time mums ... Due dates

Just a quick question about how accurate due dates are ... My mum lives in Spain and I really want her with me at the birth but not sure when to book her ticket.

Was wondering how many of you ladies gave birth on ur due dates or were late/ early ??

Thank u

That's tough because it really varies. I went 3 days before my due date with my ds but I'd say it's pretty common to be anywhere from 2 weeks early up to a few days late. I know a lot of people that went about a week early.

It depends too on how long she can stay for. I know with me personally I had my son 4 weeks early, but he had a few things going on. Minor things, but it was enough that he came a little early.

I don't no why I got it in my head that 1st babies are normally late ... I was kind of hoping ( in a perfect world) that my mum would fly out a couple of days before my due date and have an open ticket. But may have to re think on that one!

I know this is the most annoying response you can get to these types of questions but everyone is different and there really is no way of knowing if you'll be early or late. I was 5 days early with LO but only becuase I had to be induced, if I hadn't been induced who knows when I would have gone. You need to take possible induction for any 'emergencies' that may arise into consideration too. If I were you I'd book the ticked a couple of weeks before you're due as it will be nice to spend some time with your mum before bubba comes
