My cousin used the tot tent with her first but learned that the cat wanted nothing to do with the baby so she didn't bother pulling it out for her second.

I have not heard any complaints about it from anyone that has used it.

I never met a cat who wanted to be in the same room as a baby!

However, we will be keeping the bedroom door closed because our cat still might want to sleep in baby's bed when baby's not in it.

I like the look of the cat net for the cot!

I have a cat too, she's pretty curious and likes sitting on top of things, but she's also pretty good at listening when we say "no," so I don't think that it's going to be a problem.. The counters, the windows in the front and the closet are off limits and she knows it and respects it for the most part.

We live in a studio apartment, though, so there's no option of closing doors or putting up baby gates. Worst comes to worst, we could get a canopy, but OH doesn't like the idea.

Hopefully she'll just avoid the baby and listen when we say no. I plan on putting up the crib early and start disciplining her as soon as possible so she knows the rules ahead of time.

My cats love sleeping in beds. So when we set up the pack-n-play the cats wouldn't leave it alone so we trade it in for one with a Net on top.

it keeps them out.

We bought this gate:

We have a cat who jumps really high and he can not jump it. I think it is from lack of horizontal bars. We put can food in there and he couldn't get it it. Also, we put his favorite toy in the room and he tried everything to get to it and he couldn't get it. If might be worth a buy. I know several people who say that cats want nothing to do with their babies.

It sounds quite cruel but I saw on baby bump app that some girl had put double sided sticky tape inside the baby's crib and bouncer and everywhere she wanted to keep the cat away from. Apparently it worked. I'm hoping when we move next week that our cats will just ignore the closed door to the nursery! Doubtful but hopeful.

LOL... That's actually pretty funny. Doesn't seem cruel though, only thing that'll happen to the cat is he'll probably be a few hairs poorer and a bruised ego richer right?

I have a very cheeky huge maine coon and he (as well as his hair) gets eveeeryyywhere. Thinking the crib tent is an excellent idea! He's already claimed the carrycot.

We're just going to keep the nursery door shut! We have a curious 10 month old tom cat who loved the 'spare room' as it was, but we've already started closing the door and not letting him in.

We actually have a water pistol in the nursery, and the kitchen. He knows he shouldn't be in either but if he does then we give him a squirt of water and he soon runs to safe ground!

In fact we often only have to pick up the water pistol and he legs it!

if you just keep telling them no they should get it after a while anyway though.
Had cats all my life, and they're all good listeners. The one I have now knows the difference between food and drink (the words) so if I ask him if he wants a drink he runs to the bathroom to drink from the tap, when I offer him food he goes to the kitchen where his bowl is.

Anyway, I know I've been lucky in a way with the cats I've had, as not all of them like to be as cooperative

WOW! You're lucky. My cat understands what I say but doesn't obey!
