Out of control hunger

Ever since early on in my pregnancy I've had more of an appetite, and have found that if I don't eat regularly, I start to feel sick. So I'd gotten used to having my 3 meals a day and also snacks in between.
But all of a sudden over this last week my eating has become insane!

I feel hungry the second I wake up, and then for the rest of the day I literally can't go more than 2 hours without feeling hungry... so I'm snacking more often, and usually having to have more than I was a couple of weeks ago too.
If I don't eat when I feel hungry then I can guarantee I'll start to feel really, really sick - to the point that I can barely force food down - and have also become light headed and really shaky a couple of times.

I'm just wondering whether anyone else has felt this way? Like they're literally needing to eat constantly throughout the day? I'm sort of hoping that it's just due to a growth spurt or something... so if it's happened to you, did it turn out to be a phase that settled down again or has it carried on?

I'll really appreciate any advice or experiences that you can share!

I feel like this right now and I've found that drinking water or juice helps to keep the crazy hunger at bay. I just snack constantly, but try to opt for things that will stay with me longer. Bananas, toast with peanut butter, cheese, yogurt, etc...I really don't know what else to do but eat either. I get so queasy and miserable if I don't.

I'm sorry to hear you're suffering too hopefully it will pass for us soon.

Most days I am trying to keep snacking constantly too, as if I leave it for 2+hours I am really hungry by that time so probably end up eating even more.

I hadn't even thought of banana's though as another nice healthy way to have a reasonably filling snack, so thanks for that tip

I'm the same it's just started past few days - I wake up at 4am starving! Been ignoring it so far and taking water but I was just about to post something similar. I don't want to over eat but I'm so hungry. I've had healthy snacks but feel as though I need to eat every couple hours. Can't find any definite guidelines about how much to eat either so no idea what I should be doing!

I know, I never thought eating could become such a chore! I don't really feel like I have a choice but to eat unless I want to feel sick all day but I'm worried about piling on the weight so then I'm trying to eat the same old, healthy stuff... and that really does become boring very quick!

That's exactly it! I used to sometimes feel the way I get now, with the shakes, sickness etc... but it would be if I'd missed breakfast and lunch for some reason and time was pushing into the afternoon... not if it'd been 2 hours since what wouldn't be the smallest of meals! I can't believe it!

I know what you mean, it does worry me that I'm overeating. But at the same time I can't bear to leave myself feeling sick when I know exactly what will get rid of it, and sometimes the sickness and shakiness gets so bad that I wouldn't be able to function until I'd got rid of it anyway. I'm kind of hoping that it's just my bodies way of telling me that it needs the food... but can it really need this much?!

Yuck I know what you mean! I was out with my stepson in town today and after walking to train station then around a few shops I was like feed me before I throw up or faint

I actually think I need the extra food but it worries me still. Don't own any scales so i don't know how much I've gained but how is it possible to feel this hungry all the time!

I had it in my first trimester and found I had to start eating food that took longer for my body to break down.
