Gender Reveal Ideas

I am wanting to have a gender reveal party... I can't decide if I want to find out at the party or at the ultrasound?!? Anyway, does anyone have any fun ideas for revealing the gender or games to play at the party?

I've heard of some people doing a pink cake for a girl or blue cake for a boy covered with frosting and when you cut the cake, you find out...kind of sounds neat.

^ We did that! I highly recommend it! It was awesome. Have the ultrasound tech write the sex down on a piece of paper and have them seal it in an envelope. Then take the envelope (NO peeking! ) to the bakery and have them dye the cake either pink or blue and cover it entirely with a neutral frosting. Here's our reaction when it was finally time to cut the cake:

Oh my gosh! that was adorable. I almost cried watching that. Now I want to do that, though I really want to find out at the ultrasound. How long did you wait until after the ultrasound to have your gender reveal party?

We had mailed out the invitations 2 weeks before the party date. I had my ultrasound on a Tuesday and the party was on Saturday. So I had to wait 4 days...and it was a LOOONG 4 days, not gonna lie. lol! But it was completely and totally worth the wait. My daughters had also made a poster that was split down the middle with boy on one side and girl on the other, decorated it, and had people sign their name on the side that they thought the sex would be. That was fun, too. Everyone was so shocked at my party becasue we all just thought it would be a little girl...there was only like 4 people signed on the boy side. What a fantastic shock! If I was ever going to have any more babies (which I'm not...this is my caboose baby) I would definitely have another party like this...it was sooo much fun!
