So with first DD I didnt get stretch marks up until she dropped right at 8 monthes! Then TADA! Cat Scratch fever on my stomach. So i went out and bought Palmers stretch mark lotion and Jergens firming lotion (for my legs) and they are the best things that have ever happened to me lol. The lotion seems to make my old stretch marks go away and the firming lotion has helped my hip stretch marks and cellulite. I just hope they keep working the whole pregnancy!
I expect to get stretch marks on my stomach later on due to genetics. I use a lot of creams and oils but both my mum and twin sister got stretch marks so I don't think I can avoid them. I have none on my stomach so far, however my left boob is horrendous with them already and I have a couple on the right boob! Not too worried about it though, I heard a saying from one of my mummy friend that went something along the lines of "I'm a tiger and I earned my stripes!" which I thought was very good.
I thought I was going to get away with not getting any (or many) stretchmarks, as I was a chubbier girl when I got pregnant but got chunky gradually over the years. I figured "I've got the belly already, just need to fill it in!" LOL. I didn't expect to get many stretch marks since I never have had any, but lo and behold, I am 25 weeks and I have TONS already!! This really scares me - I still have 15 weeks to go and can only imagine how many more I'm going to get!
I haven't bothered slathering myself with creams and oils, really. Both make me feel icky (I've always hated using cream - just don't like the feel of it). I figure I am probably going to get them anyway since my Mom got them really bad with her pregnancies..... :\
My mom had horrible ones after she had me and still does but didnt get as many with my brother. (though my mom is 5' 98lbs usually and gained about 56lbs with me and 45 lbs with my brother). Im going to attempt to keep them moisturized this time around especially since I like in a state with nothing but miserable dry heat!
