Spotting at 19 weeks :(

HI ladies,

I'm pretty freaked out right now. Since last night, I've had a bit of spotting that's got me really scared. It's really not that much, more like pin needle spots less than size of a dime, but still....

I called my midwife and she said if it continues or if I get cramps to page her ASAP. Thankfully that has not happened...but was wondering, has this happened to everyone? How long did it last? And did you do anything about it?

In my previous pregs I had some spotting at around 15 wks, they didn't ever give me an explanation other than it could of been caused by having sex. I'm sure if nothing else happens you'll be fine x

I had spotting and aches in my uterus at 18+5 and was sent for a scan by my midwife but baby was fine and no cause for the bleeding was found I was really worried, but both the midwife and hospital staff said it's just one of those things that happen to some women when pregnant and not others. Try not to stress yourself out too much over it (easier said than done I know!). I hope everything goes well

thanks ladies I called my midwife a few hours ago again and described how little the spotting was and she said she was sure it was caused by sex and no need for a scan. There hasn't been anything for the last 3 hours so I've calmed down a bit....

so many things are freaking me out now that I'm pregnant

I've had spotting all 3 times I've had sex while pregnant and it's put me off! Totally freaked me out each time. It is scary, but it's not bad. I also had a heavy red bleed and some other unexplained spotting, but the baby's fine. It's just one of those things, but you should always let the professionals know about it.

I hope everything is OK.

I had severe bleeding (like turning on a tap) around 19w. I was put in Hospital overnight, but my cervix was high and closed and the baby and placenta were fine. They made me wait over 24 hours for a scan though! The worst night, ever!

So bleeding/spotting does happen and things can go okay! :-)

My midwife suspected a drop in progesterone in my case, I'd been using progesterone cream I bought from her since 15 weeks. She's had her concerns about me spotting earlier in pregnancy and suggested the creme. I called her yesterday when I started spotting and she said to go out and get another progesterone creme until I can see her on Tuesday. If it gets worse, I'm to go to emergency. The spotting stopped last night thankfully, but I'm taking it easy until then and hoping it doesn't happen again..

Thanks ladies, things ended up settling down so I didn't need to go to the hospital. That totally gave me a scare though
