I was told that left or right was fine, just stay off my back as much as I can unless I'm propped up (by taking all the pillows :P)

When I got to around 14-15 weeks, I would wake up on my back and I would wake up gasping for breath, I guess baby didn't like it, I always fall asleep on my right side but wake up on left/right.

I really think you body knows what works. I mean a while back they didn't have baby books and internet and experienced doctors who told you all this and clearly they made it ok.

I can see the point to them saying this, but it always seems a little pointless.

I mean, even if I fall asleep on my left side whats to say I wont turn in my sleep? Surely we cant be expected to be aware of which way we lie when we're not awake?

I alternate, between right and left side. My Dr. said your body will make u want to move when you are on one side too long and not to stress over it as sleep in general is far more important than which side I am on.
