How early can you tell the gender, usually?

I have my first ultrasound on the 18th, I'll be 15+2. It's actually my "dating" scan...not sure why it's so late. So I'm just wondering, do you think they may be able to tell me the gender by then, or at least give me a guess?

I have my private gender scan today, so hopefully they can tell at 15+2, since I'm 15+4! Haha.

They start booking scans for gender at 15 weeks, so as long as the machine they use for you is good quality, they should be able to tell you. Fingers crossed.

Some people said they found out on thier 14-16 week scans. I was told closer to 20 is more accurate. So if you have another later just don't go shopping too much until its confirmed.

i was told boy at 14w2d and at 16 weeks i was told girl but got it confirmed.. most places say any time after 14 weeks they can tell but id wait a bit...

I had my gender scan when I was 17 weeks.

I had my dating scan at 14 weeks 5 days and asked what the gender was but she wouldn't tell me, she didn't even look and said they all look the same at this stage..which I know isn't true as I found out with my son at 14 weeks . Got my next scan in 4 weeks so hopefully will find out then x
