Health Visitor Coming Monday?!

I've had a letter telling me the hv is coming Monday. They have my due date wrong so they think I'm 3 weeks further on but what do I expect?

My friend had her visit not long ago and actually felt some of the questions were bit strange. Along with the usual lifestyle questions there were questions like:
'how was your childhood?'
'did your parents favour any of your siblings over you?'
'how were you disciplined as a child?'

So if you think some of the questions are a bit probing, don't worry it seems quite standard!

Oh no, my dh gets a bit sarcastic if strangers ask probing questions. This could be fun.

There were apparently quite a lot of questions about mental health as well. I think it seems like they are trying to identify 'at risk' children before they are even born. I guess that's a good thing in a way...

god thats not good. just because you may have had depression and a shitty childhood does not mean your kids are at risk...!
i would tell them to f off lol

no wonder people end up in a state with them coming out asking probing questions and saying your kids are at risk before you even had the child

Hopefully the average person wont have anything to worry about. And judging by the stories I hear from my social worker SIL they must set their standards pretty low- doesn't seem to stop kids having to live in pretty horrendous home situations. Which then beggars the question- what is the point??

oh well i had pnd after my second child and had a bad upbringing which makes me mad them asking thease questions and making out your child is at risk.

i dont really want anything to do with hvs tbh after the birth they played a big part in my depression last time. and i dont like people coming into my home and asking invading questions and interfering.

i dont everyone does. just some areas maybe not sure the purpose before the birth other than to ask probing personal questions by the sounds of it.
