Failed my 1hr glucose test ;( and I'm a tubby ;( - Page 2

Can anyone let me know how the 3 hour test work? I'm going for my glucose test in may and Never done such thins.. all i know is they told me to not eat for 12 hours and be there for 9am.. and i always have breakfast and if i dont i feel sick.

I dont know how the 3 hours test goes

my mw wants me to do this as my dad has diabetis (spelling lol) but im not too keen on getting it done. I was fine in my 1st 2 pregnancies and have only put on 5lbs in 22 weeks and im 10 stone so i dont feel the need. She wants me to fast for 12 hours go in have bloods done, drink lucozade and go back another 2 hours later still not having ate anything to have bloods done again! The fast is from midnight til noon but i would probably faint if i hadnt eaten anything by that time lol so im not doing it. They didnt even test for this 2 years ago when i was pregnant with my youngest so i dunno why all the hype now!

My understanding of it is that you fast for about 12 hours and then go get pricked. They draw a fasting BS when you get there and then have you drink a very sugary drink, every hour after for 3 hours you get drawn to see how your BS reacts.... I'm dreading it!

Wow, I wish I had only gained 5lbs. I was fine as well with my previous 2 pregnancies and each time I had to have the 3 hour glucose test done they had never offered me the 1hour.

Had mine on Friday, Passed this time

I had to fast for 12 hours, I went in, they drew blood, made me drink a lot of the sugar drink, and then they took blood every hour for the next 3 hours.

It wasnt fun, and I"m all bruised up from the draws, but it wasnt as bad as I thought.
