I've had IBS since I was about 12 years old. I've noticed that I haven't had much constipation at all since I was more diarrhea prone before getting pregnant. The first tri I had diarrhea all the time but now things have seemed to even out a bit.

Yes my IBS trigger foods don't bother me anymore either! ALSO, get this, I am allergic to milk and egg. They don't make me swell up or stop breathing, but they cause flu-like symptoms. Now that I'm pregnant, I can eat all that again. It's insane. The doctor said your immune system let's a lot of things go because usually it attacks foreign substances, but if it did that it would attack your baby. Your immune system changes a lot during pregnancy. Maybe the food allergy situation is similar to the IBS trigger food thing too?

btw, I'm not saying it happens for everyone so if you're severely allergic to foods like stop breathing from eating nuts I don't recommend it! But if there are foods you normally can't handle, they might be okay to eat during these 9 months!!

Thats interesting you say that. I'm allergic to dairy, but I wouldn't risk it. I'm also allergic to soy and it still makes me feel ill when I eat it

Has it only been BM making it worse?? Or have you noticed more trigger food?
I have had tons of back pain and stomach pain but thought it was just part of pregnancy. This being my first child I dont know whats normal and what isnt.

Has anyone else had pain when laying on thier side? I switch from left to back to right side all night. I only find laying on my back comfortable as it doesnt bring the pain on as much. It all hurts my left side. I talked to some of my family which none of them have a G.I. problems and some of them thought maybe it was something that happened to ladies with G.I. problems. I have stopped googling things as google just makes me crazy worried about everything.

I have gotten some pains from laying on my side. I'm most comfortable on my back, as long as there is some cushion under lower back to lift me off so I'm not flat. Flat back hurts my tummy.

I have IBS since I was 13 (when hormones kicked in), but has only been diagnosed 19 years ago, when I was 19 (geez, I'm old! )

Throughout the past 2 decades and 4 pregnancies, I've come to the conclusion that my IBS is almost exclusively related to my hormone flutuations. Since tracking it, I can tell where in my period I am, because it gets so much worse at certain times a month.

During pregnancy, it will either worsen or stay the same for the first 4 months. Then it will go away almost completely and stay away the rest of the pregnancy, and until a couple of months after birth. Then it will come back, but not as severe while I breastfeed. Once I stop breastfeeding, it comes back like usual, going up and down with my monthly cycle. Quite interesting, LOL. Of course, certain foods still triggers it, and yes, some of them doesn't trigger it while pregnant and even while breastfeeding (in the beginning at least)!! So ya, one more reason why I've had 3 children and are pregnant again.
