Why do jungle themed nursery items...

...all have lions, zebras and giraffes on when those animals don't live in the jungle lol!

I know it doesn't really matter but me and OH are wildlife lovers and it seems silly to us lol

Haha I never thought of that before! We are hoping to a monkey/jungle themed nursery too.

I was at a kiddie fun group thing with my three year old neice the other day and we were singing "Old MacDonald had a farm" whilst all the kids got to pick stuffed toy animals out the box. We then went round each animal making the noise etc.

I found it odd that Old MacDonald would have monkeys and cats as well as the more normal sheep but there you go...

Joy x

Lol there's a commercial farm in our area that I hate with a passion lol! I won't name it but it used to be nice but now it's full of electric fences, tacky rides and rude staff. When we take the girl I work with there I sing "old McDonald had a farm e i e i o and on that farm he had an electric fence" lol!

She doesn't understand but she does get the idea that i'm being really silly and she loves it lol!

Ahh it's one of my pet hates - love the idea of a jungle theme, hate the fact that they fail to adequately represent an environment correctly!!!!!! I think it mis-educates toddlers/children as they get older as well.........

Me and OH totally agree! Luckily my Mum is an artist so we have a lot more to play with when it comes to decorating lol! We're going to be extra picky when choosing shop brought things. No lions lol.

Ya know, I never even thought about that before but that's pretty hilarious.
I mean Africa isn't all desert and there are certainly very foresty areas, but don't think they're considered jungle

I doubt the baby will learn from his nursery exactly which animals belong in the jungle

I'm going with a general animal theme, so I have some jungle animals, farm animals and safari animals going on. I'm not a big fan of fishy, spidery, or crabby creatures so none of those.... (except for in the bathtub, got some fishy toys and decorations)...
