why are people so rude over names!?

"aww do you have any names?"
"yes.. Olivia"
"oh i'm not sure on Olivia"

WELL THEN ITS A GOOD JOB ITS MY BABY NOT YOURS AND I'M NAMING HER NOT YOU!
why do people think you want their opinion!?

It's like being introduced to someone called kevin and being like "oh i can't stand the name kevin"
so unnecessary.

If I don't like a certain name i'll just be like 'aww lovely' and change the conversation as I'm not a complete and utter moron!

and breatheeeee

Yeah, I don't understand why people think it's OK to be negative about names like that.

Not their baby so they can shove it. If they don't like it, that's fine, but keep that opinion to themselves!

I love the name Olivia And I actually just had a post similar to this also!! My sisters are trying to rename our daughter. I told them they can call her whatever they feel they need to, because her name is not changing!

For real. I announced Ashlyn's name on Facebook along with her ultrasound picture and my brother in law tells me that we should "rethink the name." I asked him why and he says, "It just doesn't sound like a name a human would have..." WTF is that supposed to mean? He's a complete moron but I was just amazed he's say that so publicly on Facebook. As if his name is any better.

People are stupid and think because they have an opinion on something means that they HAVE to express it or else they'll implode or something.

well we're going to keep it a secret now too. when anyone asks if we've thought about names we just say "oh yeah a few but haven't decided on anything"

then they're horrified that we seem to have not thought about it...

pfft...get your own baby!

Yay for Arthur; my DS is Arthur, named after his late grandad and we love it! Personally I think Arthur is a cool name and if we have another boy he'll be Stanley, which people (especially my mum) really hate!

What's not to like about Olivia anyway? It's classic, it's pretty and it's has lovely abbreviation options, eg Liv, Lia, Olive, Livvy. I think it's beautiful and quite tempted by it myself now actually, seen as though we are seriously struggling to find a girls name and so far can't agree on anything!
