Still kinda frustrated with my ob....

Im still kinda frustrated with my OB doctor.
For those who havent read my previous thread.
First visit with her she took about 5 mins with me. Couldnt find a heart beat with a doppler. then i found out she wouldnt do another ultrasound till 3 weeks prior to delivery so i wouldnt know the sex. Then told me that she was planing to vacation she will try and be around for the birth lol. Then i find a sonogram place that would allow me to pay them to find out the sex with a doctors okay and she didnt even want to give that and after fighting about it she finally okayed it and put ONLY if i pay cash that insurance cant be used like i was lying about it lol. Then went back for my 2nd appointment with her and she didnt even show up that day so they made me a a new appointment and finally got in to see her. Once again it was like 5 mins tops just to check the babies heartbeat which she did find this time. Then said ok babies heart sounds good. see you in 4 weeks. I spoke up i said i have a couple questions if you have time as shes half way out the door. You can tell when i stopped her it was like ugh im not getting out of here fast.

I told her about the issues ive been experiances. Like orange urine sometimes. Not going pee very much or very often. She said just to drink water. my urine looked fine.

Then i asked about the risk of the baby having issues due to the babies dad having borderline autismn. She said between 5%-50% she said she dont know.

Then i asked about the external vuvla itching in 1 spot and she didnt even look just said its hormones.

I asked the Qaud screen test that was done like 2 months ago how were those results? She said uhh uhhhh i dont have those records and didnt even know i did a qaud screen test. She is like maybe the other clinic didnt fax those results and walked out for 2 mins came back and found it said everything looks okay. Its like for me wouldnt as a doctor wouldnt you want to LOOK at those results before the patient ask 2 months later how were those results? Just kinda irresponsible if you ask me cause that says to me she wouldnt have ever looked if i didnt ask or bothered to find the results.

Then first visit they said my blood pressure was a bit on the high side so i asked how was my blood pressure today and she didnt even know that. She had to tract down the nurse that took it. Its like ugh....

I have 2 choices for obs in my town and i feel stuck because if i switch and the other is worse i have no other options. So i guess i just stick it out and force her to answer questions.... ugh its just frustrating... Since this is my first pregnancy.

Why don't you report it to your ins. Company about what's going on and how bad the other one is and see if there are any other options that you can do.

I'd try and find out a bit about the other one and see if they're any better and if they are move across. I also think maybe she needs to be told that you are a bit disappointed in the level of care you are getting or rather not getting before you change so maybe she will make more of an effort with others. If you have to keep her I'd keep doing what you are, keep asking the questions making it clear you are on the ball it might just keep her on her toes a little if she notices that you are.

I would put in a huge complaint and tell it to her face and definitely switch! That's not acceptable at all. How did she even become a doctor?

Is there another ob in another town you can see? I'd report your doctor and definitely switch to a new one maybe out of town.

There is 1 other OB that works at that same clinic. I talked to a friend i randomly met and she said she goes to him for her 5yr old son and he is very nice. Its just weird to have another guy to work with for down there problems ya know. But i guess what is most frustrating is her not knowing about the test they run and not even bothering looking for the results until i bring it up. The qaud test is to determend what percent the baby will have defects. i guess thats the most frustrating they had no clue. What if i was high risk. I think thats something they should have looked at sooner then when i decided to ask.
