I stopped taking it at about 12-13w, can't remember exactly when.
My OB said that taking it doesn't show to help with preventing GD, so there wasn't a point to keep taking it *shrugs*
I don't see the harm in continuing it though. If your doc is ok with it then go for it

I took it for first 6 weeks until my horrendous morning sickness kicked in. Couldn't keep anything down so gave up on it. Concentrated on trying to keep folic acid down instead. All stay off it now as need to eat and don't have much of an appetite at the mo as it is even it hour metformin!! Othwise would have taken it whole way through

I too have PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I was told it was my call too, but that with my level of IR at a healthy weight (some people lose weight and it corrects itself, I had lost 60lbs and was still naturally IR), that my OB recommended I stay on it the entire pregnancy, especially if I was going to try to breast feed. I did my own research and decided that for me personally it was probably best to stay on it to avoid GD, a huge weight gain, and to encourage a better milk supply when b.feeding. It is a very personal decision though, so I would recommend doing some research. If you are not insulin resistant, I see no reason why you would need to continue past 12 weeks though.
