period type pains?

Is it normal to have period type pains at 16 weeks, It seems to be below my belly button, I had it last night, and on and off this afternoon/evening. Its only mild, but wondered if anyone else had had this?

I have had period type pains too on and off, i'm now coming up to 26 weeks, and baby is doing just fine (so i'm told hehe)

Thanks, thats reassuring to know. I have my 16 week mw app tomorrow so will mention it to her just incase, just hoping its normal lol! x

Yes, I've had them on and off all the way through and had quite a few this past week. Apparently it's normal as your uterus and surrounding ligaments are stretching/growing, I also heard the heartbeat a few days ago at my 16 week app so everything seems OK

I'm sure your MW will be able to reassure you! x

Yeah they are normal, it's probably round ligament pains like the others said. I've had them since I became pregnant and they got really bad where I couldn't even get out of bed for a couple days at 21 weeks, then I started getting kicks

I think they are growth spurts

aw thanks ladies, I really worry about every little ache and pain!! Will double check with MW tomorrow. Hoping I will hear the heartbeat too!!!?? xxx
