I had a large filling last week, with the usual anesthetic and it was fine The dentist knows that I am pregnant, but said it's perfectly safe xx

I have quite bad toothache at the moment, but I am point blank refusing to get anything done if they won't numb me. So I'm opting for lots of paracetamol and a patient wait until baby is here so I can get it done how I want it.
That's ridiculous tbh he's probably not doing the treatment because if he waits 3 months from your checkup or first visit he gets more UDA's (treatment points) because your treatment basically starts over as a new treatment plan and its more money for him ugh... considering your in pain it's obviously an infection he can't expect you to have treatment done without anesthetic! See someone else it's negligent letting you have an infection without offering a more appropriate solution this won't just leave you in pain the infection will get worse and you can't exactly be fed constant courses of antibiotics it also affects your nutrition because you won't eat properly with a toothache! IMHO time to find someone with your best interest at heart xx
I can't afford private dental care, and I'm a registered NHS patient with this practice, so I don't really have the ability to pick and choose what dentist I get. I'm not sure what else I can do.
You can chose Hun you are not actually contracted to stay with 1 dentist its a freedom of choice I see mainly private patients however we see many people on the NHS who had other dentist previously. Look around your area and give them a call to see if they're taking new patients, changing dentist is not like changing GP's so not as complicated and won't need your old dental records they just start making their own records from your first appointment x

Are there any other NHS dentists you can change to locally ? Otherwise you could ask for a 2nd opinion - I did this once and got a totally different answer and treatment option (which was a much better solution) than another dentist at the same practice - typical! My dentists just seem to want to pull teeth out rather than try and save is possible which is what I want!!??
