we have to drink lucozade origional not allowed flavours

it wasnt that bad at all actually but i would suggest getting something to eat as soon as you get your blood drawn. everything with the baby the great, only problem is no weight gain at all so far. dropped 3 lbs this month

The fasting glucose test I dread the most. So far I have had it twice. Once while ttc and was diagnosed with PCOS. The second time in first tri thanks to that previous diagnosis. I will have to have it again at 28 weeks. It isn't bad if you can handle the four blood draws. But I'm a needle wimp and it makes me faint. The orange drink I had the first time wasn't too terrible, tasted like flat orange pop with extra sweetener added. Had a clear one the second time which I barely choked down (slightly like flat sprite & sugar water). Might have been the ms that made it worse on me. Expect to get nauseous. I did both times. My body hated that much sugar on an empty stomach. For me having an ice pack on hand helped as I get really warm when tummy is upset. Getting and staying cool helped settle the nausea for me. The test takes 4 hours so yes bring a snack for later, you will need it. Where I get it done they don't let you drink water either. Well no more than a sip to rinse the taste out of your mouth at the start. Good luck to all with this test. Hopefully it will go smoother for you than it seems to for me.
