Does hpt lot number effect results?

I expected my test to be a little darker today. Only because I was comparing them to when I was pregnant with my daughter and they were looking nearly the same as that pregnancy, based on dpo. I switched to new box today and was disappointed that my test didn't look any darker. On 14dpo with my daughter the test and control line were the same intensity. Has anyone experienced the line not changing much when they switched boxes? I had a chemical last month so I'm just afraid that this is as dark as it will get before it starts to get lighter. Today's test is odd though because it doesn't look like the dye covered entirely on the test line, it missed out in spots and is darker in others.

these tests aren't quantitative. and even tests of the same lot can vary...I would wait at least 2 before expecting it to be darker as HCG takes two days to double...those are great lines though.

Thanks ladies

I'm almost embarrassed for having posted this. I'm just so leery after what happened last month I feel like I need to test every time I go to the bathroom. Notice I said "almost" embarassed.
